Day one Arrive in Margarita Dinner * Overnight at Recidencias Valle Mar
Day two Transfer to airport for connecting flight to Puerto Ordaz on the banks of the
Orinoco and Caroni Rivers Board a Pan-Sur van for the drive to Upata, in the interior of
Venezuela Visit historic fortifications in Ciudad Guyana and San Feliz Overnight at the
Day three Go south to the famous goldcamp at El Callao, at one time the largest
producing gold mine in the world Visit Tumeremo, the Boschinche mining district and the
famed mining town of El Dorado Appreciate the mining heritage of this region of Venezuela
Overnight in a night in a tent camp in Luepa Day four Continue on to Santa Elena de Uairen
En route visit Kamoiran Rapids and the Indian Village of San Francisco Sightseeing tour of
Santa Elena Overnight in the hotel in Santa Elena.
Day five Travelers go to San Ignacio de Yuruani to pick up canoes Continue on to Arauta
Meru and paddle down river (approx.four hours) to Iwoken. Transportation will be provided
to the Rue Meru camp Overnight in tents or hammocks in Rue Meru camp Day six Visit: Velo
de la Novia, a beautiful waterfall, excellent for swimming and picture taking. Travelers
can enjoy a relaxing swim in the huge rock pool at its base. Meseta de Rue, an excellent
area for observing the variety of rock formations and plant life which can be found on the
tepuys. Parrots Valley. Every morning, the parrots fly away en masse and every
evening they return in a huge group and settle in the trees of Parrot Valley, making it a
great place to observe local birds and parrots. Campo Alegre. This Native community gives
visitors the opportunity to learn about the local customs and way of life, as well as buy

Day seven The tour leaves Santa Elena de Uairen, Venezuela, and travels by car to
Paratepuy de Roraima. From there, travelers continue on foot to the Tek and Kukenan
rivers, where camp is made the first night.
Day eight After breakfast, travelers break camp and a six hour hike takes them to the
base of the tepuy (a flat topped mountain) where they will spend the night.
Day nine Travelers break camp after breakfast and hike for four hours until reaching
the top of the tepuy. Small caves will serve as campsites for the third night.
Day ten The tour makes a round trip to the top of Mt. Roraima. There are two choices
for this excursion: a) (short trip) A four hour walk lets travelers view The Amphitheater
and The Window. b) (long trip) A six hour walk takes travelers to The Canyon, The
Labyrinth, The Valley of Crystals and Triple Point.
Days eleven Travelers head down the tepuy.
Day twelve Pan-Sur vehicles pick up expedition on its return from Mount Roraima Return
to Santa Elena
Day thirteen Depart from Santa Elena airport to Margarita Island A Pan-Sur host will
meet the tour and provide transportation to the Valle Mar apartments in Juan Griego
Days fourteen to seventeen Four relaxing days in the Caribbean sun. including 2 full
day island tours
Day eighteen Breakfast* and drive to the airport for return flight home
